A top footballer needs to look the part and will usually spend a small percentage of their vastly inflated wages on a top of the range motor. Below is a list of cars that some of the top UK football stars drive, have driven in the past or are sat in one of their garages as part of a collection.

Sports Car or Not Sports Car?

Not every football player is concerned with the latest sports car. Take David James for example, the Bristol City goalkeeper. He drives a robin reliant. Whether this is homage to the legendary ‘Del Boy’ from ‘Only Fools and Horses’ fame, or if he enjoys driving the car remains to be seen.

Cesc Fabregas, the Arsenal captain and Spanish World Cup winner, drives an Audi A3. Although a superb car to drive, the A3 is still accessible to many who are not fortunate enough to have the wealth of one of Europe’s top footballers.

Sponsorship

Of course some football stars receive a new car as part of a sponsorship deal either with the club or with themselves. These are perhaps not the soccer player’s motor of choice and end up as a second vehicle, to be used on match days or fobbed off to the wife or girlfriend.
